Hi Team, I have been using a credit card (5241-1100-0037-3782) from HDFC bank .I got a call from Mumbai HDFC helpline number 28564332 on 12th march 2014 @ 6.48 P.m inquiring about my card details to refund the FCY charges made on my previous bill.After 5 minutes i got a call from HDFC customer care that my card is hacked and it has made an unauthorised payment of 5000 to AIRTEL BILLSESK.I informed customer care to block the card and sent an dispute form on the charges made as per the customer care.The customer care informed me that it will take 3 days to settle money to merchant so we will cancel the payment.but after 3-4 days of mail interaction and call interaction ,today the confirmed me i have to make a payment for the charges incurred even though it isn''t made by me or through my approval.my question is now why were the bank take the responsibility to cancel the payment when i have informed to block my card and given a written letter informing them about the dispute.Now they have asked me to follow up with airtel to cancel the charges and refund it to me.why haven''t the taken step to cancel the payment when i have informed them via all means that its a disputed transaction instead me to follow up with them and make it a long process
