This is my most pathetic experience with any airlines ever and the reasons are:
1. flights cancellations & refunds are not being informed/ processed on time 2. airline is expert in giving wrong facts i.e. lying. It cheats the customer in a very professional manner
Here are the details.
1. I booked on 15th Dec from Mumbai to Leh (via delhi) for journey on 4th Mar clear trip ID 1412155655 & 1412155519 for Dilip Jain and SD Mehta. Since it was direct flight with a small stopover in Delhi, I preferred this over other options although the cost was more than double. I discovered (not informed) after few days that the Mumbai to Delhi leg is canceled and I have option of taking the flight on earlier day. I declined and agreed to cancel my entire ticket. After lot of follow ups, I got the refund. Attached herewith is the communication.
2. This is much more serious. I along with 4 of my friends booked goair ticket again from Delhi to Leh for journey on 4th Mar PNR 2CEA61 for around 5500. On afternoon of 3rd Mar, I am told by a friend that this flight on 4th is also canceled. Than I called goair and they confirmed cancellation and told that it is due to snow at Leh and they will refund entire amount. They told me that I have option of taking their next flight on 12th (after 8 days!).
But to my surprise 2 things happened
1. Their flight was not canceled and it operated on same day i.e. 4th
2. They were still selling tickets online for 7th March
Since, it was important for all of us to go to Leh on 4th, we booked business class in air india at around 21000 on 3rd Mar afternoon (against 5500 for goair).
Goair cheated us all by lying that flight is canceled when it actually wasn’t and forced all of us to buy the tickets by paying around 15000. Looks like cartel between the airlines wherein the flight tickets which are booked earlier by people at low fares are cancelled on last minute so that they can book new tickets at 4 times the early fares.
Can Mr. Wadia reply to this and explain why their airlines are doing this fraud so easily & professionally. I am not just claiming compensation for excess fare paid by all of us but claiming damages for harassment. I am escalating this matter to other relevant authorities for strict legal action.
