I have registered with Shine.com seeking suitable career opportunities 2 years back. Today I got a call from Shiningyourcareer.com - as informed to me - the caller was Priya. She told that I am shortlisted for a career with HDFC Bank and I need to come online to link my profile. However, there was no mention about any fee payable. Later again she called and advised me the steps to complete the process and then came the page for payment of money - Rs.1,850/-. Not aware of further traps - and believing her words to my specific question on the terms and conditions - she was repeatedly prompting me to complete and I made the payment of Rs.1,850/- and she told do not click on anything as she is verifying and I could not get even the receipt for the payment made (using debit card) and finally she told she is transferring the line to her senior. He also advised me to select certain options and finally it landed in another page demanding money. Then I asked him what is this and he told I will show you the final amount payable in the next screen. Then I told him that this is nothing but cheating as there was no mention about this when I was first told about the career opportunity. He told this payment has to be made for verification etc. Then I told there is no question of making any further payment and demanded the money already paid. He told the money will not be refunded and I asked his name. He has not revealed his name too. Then I told you have to ultimately land in jail only and then slowly his tone changed and he said I need not pay further money and he will send me an ID and password and that credentials etc has to be satisfied by me. Thereafter no messages have come and to my surprise, when I searched in google, there have been umpteen instances of frauds committed by cheating the aspirants. Request authorities concerned to book the culprits duly understanding their modus-operandi.
