Hey everybody, this is Vijay Kumar M Jaiswal from Hyderabad, let me tell you details of the Hyundai Santro Xing GLS-LPG 2013 model which I purchased on the 14-02-2013 from M/S Talwar Hyundai, Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India.
As per the brochure of the company and the e-brochure of the company, under the safety and security features, the Car is fitted with 1. Keyless Entry, 2. Central Locking, 3. Self Locking Door & 4. Immobilizer. All these features are self explanatory which are not functioning in my car since the day of purchase, this was brought to the notice of M/S Talwar Hyundai and I was told that the problem would be addressed and I need to take the car to their workshop. I took the car to workshop and narrated my problem the works manager asks me is that mentioned in the brochure I said yes then he does not find even a single in their workshop, I advised him that it's on company (HMIL) website he browsed the site and went thru it and has made the statement as below. You may please note that all the functions are self explanatory. You can see all the information on various websites.
His explanation for 1. Keyless Entry he says yes sir its keyless entry you are not opening or unlocking the doors with the key but by a unlock button on the remote key that's it. The clear explanation for Keyless Entry is that this function is you need not operate any button on the remote key as you near to the car upon sensing the key the doors unlocks this works on RF frequency.
His explanation for 2. Central Locking he says that all the doors lock at once with a single lever or button operation this is agreed.
His explanation for 3. Self Locking Doors he says that when closing the doors or locking you need to close the door like we use to do in our old cars that is turn the key remove press the lever on driver side (inside) pull the door lever (outside) and shut the door, while inside the car there is no such function the driver has to operate the lever on his side to lock the doors there is no such function at all in this model. The clear explanation for Self Locking Doors first condition is that after entering into the car when you turn on the Ignition Key the doors shall lock, Second condition when you release the hand brake lever the doors shall lock, Third condition when you shift the gear lever the doors shall lock, Fourth condition is that when the car start moving upon attaining certain speed or after few seconds of movement the doors lock automatically, and unlock the doors upon the halt of the car, and finally when you come out of the car parked if you forget to lock the car doors locks automatically after 30 seconds.
His explanation for 4. Immobilizer he says that the car steering will not work without its original keys. This I need to get a duplicate key made and test, but the clear explanation is the key with built in remote works on RF frequency when the key is inserted the Immobilizer senses the frequency and if the frequency match then all the function start. Without the original key the car would not start at all if you lose the original key you need to have at least one original key to program the new key or order to the company along with the key tag which came along with the original key.
Several mails (cr@hmil.net, crservice@hmil.net) and letters have been sent to Hyundai Motors India Limited and there is no response to the letters and notice sent to them by speed post, courier and fax, as for the mails they have a automated reply system where in they mention that the zonal office or the dealer will come in touch with you to sort out the problem in three working days, in my case it is 9 months or 270 days no resolution yet.
As there is no response from the dealer as well from HMIL I had decided to proceed legally to the consumer court under the consumer protection act 1986 at the cost of HMIL and seek compensation for the mental agony caused due to the defective car sold to me. For which I had served 2 notices dated 16-05-2013 & 21-08-2013 thru speed post.
To one and all who are intending to buy an car please do not purchase any car of Hyundai they and their dealers are very careless, arrogant and very rude once they sell the product. Earlier I had Maruti car whenever I complained about the problems their team would immediately respond and come to home with appointment to sort out the issue if required engineers were also deputed from their factory, pl make a note this all within a time frame and where ever necessary the amount was refunded. I really did the biggest blunder in my lifetime after going thru all this I would say Be Indian Buy Indian Kick out all these foreign brands. And to conclude I request all the people suffering with such problems to join the group and post the problems faced by them so that stern and appropriate action is taken against HMIL I am also forwarding this complaint to ministry of consumer affairs thru www.pgportal.gov.in I am also herewith attaching all necessary documents and links for the problems cited here.
